Dear Friends of St. Elizabeth School,
It is hard to believe that another school year is upon us. I am so proud of our school community and what we have been able to achieve over these past few months despite the hardships that we faced. As we begin a new school year together, I am overjoyed to welcome our faculty and students back to our virtual and in-person classrooms. While this year may look different, we are ready for a year filled with excitement, learning, engagement, and faith.
As a Catholic school and the largest parochial grade school in the Archdiocese of Washington, our purpose is to incorporate the teachings of our faith into the daily life of our faculty and students. This mission did not waver during the spring of distance learning. From the first day that our campus closure was announced, our administration presented a plan that our faculty embraced in order to meet the needs of our students. From pacing guides and lessons on Google Classroom to morning prayers, student-teacher discussions, and sing-alongs over Zoom, St. Elizabeth School has strived to meet our goal of clear and concise learning while providing love and care for all of our students. While none of us asked for this new reality, together, we have persevered and stayed connected to one another. I know that this fall will be no different, and we are prepared for any challenge that awaits us.
As we implement our re-opening plan this September, I remain excited and hopeful for the gift of a new school year. If you are a prospective parent exploring our website for the first time, I encourage you to see what makes St. Elizabeth such a special environment for our students by visiting our virtual Open House page or scheduling an appointment to speak with our Director of Admissions.
I hope that you and your family are enjoying these summer months and that you remain safe and healthy.
Sincerely yours,
Mary Penny
